The flexible flat beater is made of aluminum and has a non-stick coating. The lip is made of silicone and the flexible flat beater is dishwasher safe and can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher.

Know - How usage tips

If the bowl is empty and you run the flexi beater in it, it will squeak. This is comparable to a windscreen wiper on a dry car window. It is therefore best not to use the flexible beater when it is idling and only up to speed level 6.
